Resurrection celebration

Every Sunday is a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Yet on Easter Sunday, we purposely gather to sing that “Jesus Christ is Risen Today!” and to remember the victory that Christ has won over death. As baptized Christians, we know that we will go to the grave just as Jesus went to the grave, but we will also rise, just as Jesus rose. Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Pentecost Sunday!

Congratulations to Sarah Sebald and Andrew Sebald who made an affirmation of baptism and were confirmed in the faith at St. James Lutheran Church on Pentecost Sunday.

We pray that the Holy Spirit set their faith on fire!

Summer Sundays

Welcome to summer at St. James. We are decidedly casual. Wear shorts if you want. God made those knees, after all, and already knows what they look like.

Our summer worship is at 9 a.m. at the church, with two exceptions.

On Sunday, June 21, and Sunday, August 16, we will worship outdoors at the Grettler Farm picnic grove along Elk Creek at 10 a.m. Contact the church office if you would like directions.

And looking ahead, we are planning to join Lutheran congregations throughout America in a day of service on Sunday, September 13. We’ll do God’s work with our hands on that day. And yes, we’ll all wear yellow t-shirts.

Join our family at St. James.
